Lead the Kitchen. Be Part of the Work.

At Isle of Cedar Ridge, dining is a core part of the resident experience - and we’re looking for a Chef Manager who leads from the front.

This is a hands-on culinary leadership role where you will actively cook while overseeing daily kitchen operations. You’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality meals while supporting and guiding the kitchen team to ensure a consistent, positive dining experience for residents.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong culinary background who enjoys balancing cooking, team leadership, and day-to-day kitchen operations in a structured senior living environment.

What You’ll Own

  • Lead daily kitchen operations and meal service execution
  • Prepare and cook meals alongside the team in alignment with menu standards and dietary needs
  • Supervise and support kitchen staff, ensuring quality, consistency, and efficiency
  • Maintain high standards for food quality, presentation, and service
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and basic food cost control
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and HACCP standards
  • Support scheduling and day-to-day team coordination
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment
  • Assist with special events, themed meals, and community functions

What Success Looks Like

  • Consistently high-quality meals and presentation
  • Smooth, efficient kitchen operations
  • Strong food safety and sanitation standards
  • Positive resident dining experiences
  • Reliable team support and accountability

Who This Role Is For

We’re looking for a working kitchen leader who is comfortable both cooking and leading:

  • 3–5+ years of experience in kitchen operations, culinary leadership, or hospitality
  • Experience as a Sous Chef, Kitchen Manager, Chef Manager, or similar role preferred
  • Strong understanding of food preparation, kitchen workflow, and safety standards
  • Comfortable working hands-on in the kitchen daily while leading and supporting a team
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • ServSafe certification or similar food safety certification preferred
  • Reliable, team-oriented, and service-focused mindset

What Sets You Apart

  • You lead by example and work alongside your team
  • You take pride in both food quality and execution
  • You’re dependable, organized, and solutions-oriented
  • You care about creating a positive experience - not just completing tasks

Why This Role Matters

Dining is one of the most meaningful parts of our residents’ daily lives.

In this role, you’re not just preparing meals - you’re helping create an environment where residents feel cared for, comfortable, and at home.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
