Dining Room Supervisor

About the Role:

The Dining Room Supervisor delivers exceptional customer service to residents, guests, and staff within the dining room. This role oversees daily dining operations, ensuring prompt, professional service while monitoring food and beverage availability and managing the flow of seating. The Dining Room Supervisor also supports meal service, greets and seats guests, and addresses requests or concerns with courtesy and efficiency to create a positive dining experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Service Excellence: Ensure high-quality service for residents, guests, and employees by supervising and supporting dining staff.

  • Dining Room Management: Oversee the setup, cleanliness, and organization of the dining area, including linens and table settings.

  • Customer Interaction: Greet and seat residents, guests, and staff; take menu orders and answer questions regarding food and service.

  • Meal Service: Serve food and beverages according to established procedures, ensuring proper pacing and attentiveness to residents’ needs.

  • Record-Keeping: Input resident preferences and dietary information into Net Impact or other menu software; assist with menu preparation and printing.

  • Table Maintenance: Clear and reset tables between courses, maintaining cleanliness of tables, chairs, linens, and service stations.

  • Complaint Resolution: Report customer concerns to the supervisor to ensure prompt and effective resolution.

  • Special Event Support: Assist with dining services for special events as directed.

  • Staff Training: Support the training of new dining room staff and provide ongoing guidance as needed.

  • Inventory Management: Maintain records of dining supplies, including tableware, glassware, and linens. Report any equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.

  • Safety & Compliance: Follow all food safety regulations, report sanitation concerns, and assist with waste control and inventory management.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required.

  • Experience: Previous experience in dining, hospitality, or senior living preferred.

  • Skills: Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English; must maintain food handler certification as required.

  • Availability: Willingness to work weekends and flexible hours as needed.
