We are looking for an experienced, dependable Director of Health Services to join our community.

Director of Health Services

The DHS is responsible for the overall supervision, provision, and quality of nursing and supportive services in Assisted Living. They will be responsible for the selection, training, discipline and supervision for all nursing related personnel. As well as responsible for the procurement of appropriate supplies and equipment and operating within the departmental budget.

  • Responsible for the development, organization and operation of nursing and supportive services for Assisted Living.
  • Responsible for the coordination and monitoring of nursing and supportive services for all residents including the procurement of outside sources to ensure that residents' needs are met.
  • Communicates and meets with outside consultants as necessary to assess and make recommendations for resident care needs.
  • Responsible for coordination and monitoring of documentation which reflects wellness care provided, individual's response to care and disposition of each case.
  • Selects, trains, evaluates, disciplines all nursing related personnel.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining the assignments of duties for all nursing and supportive services to assure 24-hour coverage sufficient to meet regulatory requirements and community standards of care.
  • Maintains clinical skills and stays knowledgeable of current standards of nursing practice through nursing education related to geriatrics.
  • Assists residents and families by offering support in dealing emotionally with the aging process.

Job Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse or Register Nurse with a current license in the state of Texas REQUIRED.
  • Two years' experience in geriatric nursing. Minimum of two years nursing administration experience required.
  • Strong Systems and process management
  • Experience with staffing
  • Computer proficiency. Must be comfortable utilizing technology systems on a daily basis to manage resident care, medications and tracking.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must possess the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, employees and outside contacts.
